Contemporary week!!

Happy New Year, fellow readers!

I have been forced out of hibernation with the realization that the holiday is now over and I better actually, like, get dressed before noon and prepare the kids for school-mode again. *sigh*

To start of this year, I wanted to do something different--to spice things up around here. You know I've been a bit of a slacker. I'll admit that. I am learning to listen to my inner speedometer, which often tells me I'm going too fast, hence the less frequent posts. BUT, this week, I'll be making up for it a tad. ;)

This week I'm officially dubbing, "Contemporary Christian Romance Books That I Loved and Really Can't Wait To Tell You About". This being said, you know how I feel about historicals--they are my favorite, and I will almost always choose a historical over a contemporary. HOWEVER, these are just too great not to talk about.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday I'll share a quick blurb about some books I loved--and will even do a giveaway on Friday!

So, for today I want to share with you Carla Laureano. *LOVE HER* No doubt you've seen her books around, but have you read them?? Oh, ladies, you are in for a treat of the Godiva Chocolate kind. Five Days in Skye and London Tides are fantastic!! (covers below...)

These two books SLAYED me. Loved the romance, characters, plot, depth, etc. These books got it all. AND...wait for it...she's got another one coming soon--Under Scottish Stars!!! *this is me squealing in excitement* Read them. I am convinced you will be hooked and GAGGING for book three like I am.

And so now, you can spend some of that Christmas money you didn't know what to do with. ;) You won't be sorry.

Tell me what you read over the holiday AND, if you're feeling chatty, what books you are looking forward to this year.

Much love and best wishes for the new year, my friends!!!

As always, HAPPY READING!!

  1. You made me laugh Amber. I too have been on Christmas break and have loved the down-time. And I, like you, will choose a historical read over contemporary 9 times out of 10. BUT . . . . I did take a drift off the beaten path and I also read Five Days in Skye - which lead to reading London Tides. And I totally agree with you - Carla Laureano is a mighty fine writer. I too am looking forward to the release of Under Scottish Stars. And if you're on the "contemporary bend in the road" - then I would recommend to you "Sway" by Amy Matayo and "Kept" by Sally Bradley. Both are exceptional reads!!
Right now I'm back in Camelot - - with my all time favorite writer - the Queen of Medieval Romance - Tamara Leigh - reading "Baron of Emberly" Book 2 of The Feud Series - - oh, be still my heart - sigh, sigh, and s...i...g...h...!!!!

    1. Hi Pam!!!
Happy New Year! I hope you are doing well. I honestly always look forward to seeing what you will about a post, so thank you so much for doing that!
I have heard wonderful things about SWAY and KEPT, but I haven't read them yet. BUT, I have read BOE and I LOVED it!!! It might actually beat out Garr's and Everard's stories, I don't know...its so tough, they are all amazing. My review of that one is coming soon!!
Much love to you, dear friend!

  2. I read the Rogue Hearts series by Donna Hatch and really liked them. The fourth book is my favorite. I'm looking forward to Cold Shot by Dani Pettrey, Undaunted Hope by Jody Hedlund, You're the One that I Want by Susan May Warren, Dawn at Emberwilde by Sarah E. Ladd, The Ringmaster's Wife by Kristy Cambron, No Other Will Do by Karen Witemeyer, Her One and Only by Becky Wade, From This Moment by Elizabeth Camden, and all the books from the Power of the Matchmaker series (one released each month). Whew! And that's only the start... Happy New Year!
