A little cover magic...

Have you ever created something that you liked, but man, there was just something that still wasn't right about it? After creating the first cover for So True a Love, there was something I didn't quite like, but I couldn't place it. In fact, it was bothering me SO bad that I finally decided, "Forget this! I'm making a new one!"

So, for those of you who were excited about/supportive of the first cover, let me say THANK YOU! It means a lot that you were so kind. BUT, I have created this new one (I LOVE that about being indie--I can change whatever I need to, whenever I want!) and I hope that you like it as well. Personally, I LOVE it and I'm finally at peace.

For me, this cover really captures the story and I'm very thrilled with how it turned out.

Only two weeks until the release!! (Well, a few days more than that, but STILL!!) I'm very excited to share this story with you, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Happy New Year, friends!

  1. I pulled up your post from the first cover reveal and I can't stop clicking back and forth comparing the two! I believe I love the second cover more, except for the greenish cast (which only bothers me on her skin). I definitely prefer the new photo and it's perspective, and I like how the "T" is no longer tangled up in her hair :) I also love the back of her dress. You're pretty awesome to be able to design such fabulous book covers! The textured filter also gives it a great mood.

  3. I too had to pull up the first cover to compare - - and I too love this second one more. But . . . I will tell you there was one thing that was a "distraction" for me - - I couldn't figure out why her left arm is a pink/reddish color when the right arm (dress cloth) is cream colored. And it was with the comparison that I figured out that the pink/reddish color isn't her dress material but part of her wrap. If you don't have the two covers to compare, then this might cause a "why" to a newcomer - - - just saying . . . . it's a small thing but it creates a "mystery" that a detail person like silly me is trying to solve.
I do love the cover and I am certainly on "high alert" for the books release. Keep us posted - - my Kindle is ready!!
